Michigan GMC Dealers Add Enhancements to Lots.

DETROIT – Michigan GMC dealers along with Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac dealers across the U.S. have already begun to work closely with General Motors to offer a higher level of customers’ experiences. GM initiated a program called Essential Brand Elements which rewards dealers if they choose to meet certain customer experience standards set by GM.

The standards that are set in place include facilities upgrades, sales and service training, and other customer experience practices.

“We’re investing in our retail network because today’s new vehicle customer expects a shopping experience to match the character of the brand they’re considering,” said GM North America President Mark Reuss. “Our dealers also recognize this and are making their own significant investments so they better serve the needs of our customers. These investments are good for our business and are great news for the communities they serve.”

Currently, there are more than 1,000 dealerships across the U.S., including Michigan GMC dealers, that have already completed their upgrades to their own facilities with another 2,400 already on board to do the same. Some of the improvements include updated signage, new exterior entrances, more modern and open showrooms, added greeting stations and comfortable customer lounges with free Wifi.

There has been success with the newest upgrades according to dealership owners like Ken Ross, owner of Team Chevrolet and Cadillac in Vallejo, Calif.:

“The old store may have turned some potential customers away, so we wanted our new dealership to match the look and sophistication of the products we sell.” He added, “People seem to enjoy spending time in the new store, and we’re selling more cars and trucks to customers we’ve not seen before.”

With upgrades occurring across the U.S., General Motors is working to create consistent branding throughout the country. According to GM, contemporary facilities are the key ingredient to providing higher levels of customer experiences, and Michigan GMC dealers and hundreds more will continue to follow the initiative.
