Michigan GMC Dealers See More Vehicles at the NAIAS
DETROIT – Michigan GMC dealers who attended the Detroit Auto Show may not have seen a big debut of GMC models like the Sierra, but there still were plenty of vehicles to look at. For those Michigan GMC dealers who haven’t yet attended, MI Auto Times presents some additional coverage of more vehicles revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show:
Nissan
The Nissan Pathfinder SUV Concept, a major hint at the fourth-generation Pathfinder, has room for seven, promises a 25 percent increase in city/highway mpg and a V6 engine. It’s a switch to a car-based platform as opposed to a truck-based platform. Nissan also revealed the E-NV200 Concept model.
MI Auto Times will continue to evaluate Detroit Auto Show vehicles and release more information as it becomes available.

Honda
John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda, was onstage to celebrate Honda’s 30th anniversary of U.S. production and to introduce the new Honda Accord Concept. More than 11 million Accords have been sold in America, and the Accord Concept gives car buyers “a very strong glimpse of the direction of the all-new Accord lineup coming this fall,” Mendel said. For the production models of the 2013 Accords, they’ll feature three new powertrains, including the new Earth Dreams 2.4-liter direct-injected engine as well as a two-motor plug-in hybrid system. Other features include Honda LaneWatch, rearview backup camera and Honda ECO Assist system.
Toyota
Toyota continued its trend of hybrid and plugin models with the NS4 advanced plug-in hybrid concept vehicle. The NS4 is not part of the Prius family but instead a midsize concept Toyota envisions for a worldwide introduction in three years. The vehicle features slender A-pillars for improved visibility but without sacrificing the integrity of the body strength. The NS4 has also been equipped with a Pre-Collision System—technology that may help avoid crashes and detect possible collision under specific circumstances.
Lincoln
Lincoln revealed an MKZ Concept yesterday featuring a panoramic glass roof, push-button transmission gear selection, MyLincoln Touch and 8-inch LCD. The MKZ Concept has a midsize platform, four-seat interior, Lincoln Drive Control and some of the design elements that will be incorporated into the vehicle hitting showrooms later this year.
