Matthew Stafford Questions Remain: Will Detroit Lions Football Quarterback Be Out for Season?
Matthew Stafford of the Detroit MI Lions suffered a severe right shoulder injury in Sunday’s loss to the NY Jets, and many sources have indicated the injury is worse than his previous Grade 2 shoulder separation. All that’s known about the future of the Detroit Lions quarterback is that Matthew Stafford will not be playing in Sunday’s game.
His replacement is Shaun Hill who will be wearing a light cast to protect a forearm fracture of his left arm. Hill broke his left arm approximately four weeks ago, but is said not to have any problems that could affect his game.
On Wednesday, Detroit Lions Coach Jim Schwartz fielded questions from the press about Matthew Stafford, but gave no answers. Schwartz told the press that “…nothing’s changed since Monday. I said that we’ll get him back as soon as we can. And any other speculation, any other rumor, anything else to do with Matt is irresponsible.”
One of Stafford’s teammates has been more open than the coach. Apparently, Mlive.com, Stafford’s teammate Drew Stanton told FOX 2 Detroit that Stafford had a decision to make, indicating Stafford was considering surgery which would put an end to his season.
