DETROIT, M.I. – MI dealers may follow the new plans and projects of General Motors and may have heard of the more recent venture that GM has jumped into. General Motors announced yesterday that it is investing $44.5 million to build a Logistics Optimization Center at its local Lansing Grand River Assembly plant.

This new center will deliver 200 new jobs into the industry while also making the process to build models such as the Cadillac ATS and three models of the Cadillac CTS even easier. The investment will build a 400,000-square-foot building next to the assembly plant where parts will be sequenced and assembled to better streamline the manufacturing process. MI Dealers Looking Forward to Tomorrow as Team LaFontaine Travels Back in Time

DETROIT – Team LaFontaine will see its event come to life tomorrow with the support of many MI dealers and local individuals helping the cause. The LaFontaine Auto Group puts together its yearly 9 & WINE Event to help raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Being a 5-year survivor of cancer, Ryan LaFontaine heads up the event with Kelley LaFontaine, and they both have worked together with many organizations and individuals to bring success to this annual event.

The theme is 80s and fun. With golf registration starting at 2 p.m. and the shot gun start at 3 p.m., those interested can enjoy the event all day long. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with the dinner and party. Tickets that include golf are $98 per person and for only the dinner and party, the total is $58 per supporter.

Michigan Chevrolet Dealers Hear GM Donates $10k for Tree-Planting Project near ‘Chevy in the Hole’ Site

DETROIT, M.I. – Michigan Chevrolet dealers may have heard by now that General Motors is offering its help to the city of Flint to support its phytoremediation tree-planting project.

What is phytoremediation? It is a process that uses plants such as trees to contain or eliminate heavy metals, pesticides and other types of pollution. Phytoremediation is used instead of excavating the contaminated soil.
